I built the mod_ssl 2.7.1 on NT and I can run apache in ssl mode using
"apache -D SSL". Is there a way to do it with service (e.g. net start
apacheSSL)
BTW, minor bugs:
1. mod_ssl change the NT makefile name from Makefile.nt to Makefile.win, the
configure.bat is still using "Makefile.nt" so th
s full strength ciphers (except if _you_ disable them
yourself). So if you want SSL server for NT which speaks also 128 bit
ciphers, all you've to do is to fetch Apache, mod_ssl and OpenSSL, build
the packages according to mod_ssl's INSTALL.Win32 and bask in the glow.

Errr... NT != Redhat (tzzzzz)
mod_ssl for NT: compile it yourself by following INSTALL.W32
mod_ssl for RedHat: look into http://
Go to www.modssl.org/contrib/
There is up to date RPM for both 5.x and 6.x Redhat i386 systems
For other arch, you'll have to take the src.rpm and rebuild.
