Hello all,
Long time no see. I'm back to work on the MIPS JIT port (finally). It's been a
long path, but it's good to be back.
I've got a small set of patches [almost] ready for checkin that allow the MIPS
JIT to compile, and which implement enough of the changes to the new IR format
to get
Hello,
Attached are a set of patches to mono that allow it to compile on
32-bit mips systems, and that provide enough updates to the newer
IR form for mono to run at least well enough to get into the
TestDriver in basic.exe (see below). I know about the missing opcodes,
they, and a number of
linux fileserver), I'll check in.
Thanks!

Hi,
This looks ok to check
Thank you.
What format do you prefer patches in? Unified diff? Quilt patch collections?
Thanks,

Thanks. It's been a while since I wrote the 1.0 JIT for MIPS, hopefully it
won't take me too long to get back up to speed.

Hello,
The port to MIPS64 was never started (to the best of my knowledge), much less
completed.
I might actually get my mips system back up and running and get back to working
on the MIPS JIT ... One of these days. LOL.

I have an interest in picking this back up ... maintaining the MIPS JIT port
that is, if there's still an interest.

Hello all,
The initial changes for the MIPS port for Mono have now been committed.
At this point I'd call the port partially working:
- only o32/big-endian is supported at the moment
- most of the basic*.exe tests in mono/mini pass.
- conditional exceptions aren't thrown in many cases

Hello,
Thanks Cody - that got me unblocked.

Hello all,
I'm working on a MIPS port of the Mono JIT compiler. It's coming along
fairly well -- my hello, world test is getting approximately halfway
to actually producing output lol.
I've run into a problem with generating calls to virtual functions with
'this' pointers. In the

Hey,
I'm working on a Linux/MIPS port -- close enough?
It will certainly help.
I would say that probably 70% of the work is the architecture
port, the
other 30% is OS-specific work. Which usually includes ABI
Belay that - I found it. My mistake.
It gets a lot farther now LOL
Thanks again,

Subject: Mono JIT on MIPS - disappearing
Hello all,
I'm attempting to bring mono up under a Linux/MIPS environment (Debian
if anyone cares), and as the JIT for mips doesn't exist yet, I thought
the best thing to do was configure and build an interpreter version
first (as recommended).
Doing this from the svn head (updated as of 10
Hello,
Ah - thanks. Straight on to the JIT port for mips then. ;-)
Thx,

against it:1) If a memory manager could be replaced, I could re-implement one (or modify an OpenSource one) to circumvent DRM. I can see that being why MS won't do it.
