1. Sometimes you actually want to reply privately. Munging the Reply-To header 
makes this more difficult.

2. Redundancy. Sometimes the mail server is down or slow. Getting two messages 
is thus an advantage if you’re waiting for a response, as you’re not waiting on 
any delays in the listserv software.

3. Filtering and convention: it’s common practice that if you’re in the “To” 
header, the message is directed at you specifically, and thus a response may be 
warranted from you specifically, while if you’re in the “Cc” header, you don’t 
necessarily need to reply (it’s informative).
