the last several days to see if I could compile some under cygwin but have
been unsuccessful in all my attempts and would love to play around with 0.29
on my Windows box.

This is exactly the same problem I am having as well. Running Slackware 8.1
or RedHat 8.0, I get the same thing. Any help from anyone on this would be
wonderful :)
