There is no Mono WinForms designer, so I don't know if there is any other way than adding them manually. On the other hand, you could still do it in VS and run it with Mono.
That said, the main thing to watch out for is whether the controls will actually work with Mono. Most third-party WinForms controls are Windows only, as they P/Invoke native Windows DLLs.
