I was talking to Van at the last Cinevent, we were talking about Cancer and I
wished him well, for some of you out there know that I was ill two years ago
with the same problem. We had a heartfelt conversation.
May he rest in peace

That's sad news.
My wife bought our daughter Heather (big Bogart fan) several of Van's items in
this year's show.

Many years ago, I had the belief that in the future (ie. 2010) vintage
movie posters would be viewed as fine art..since the cost of purchasing an
original painting was then and is now so prohibitively high...I thought to
some degree that vintage movie posters would fit into that
Rick, it was exactly the same thought on my part that caused me to start the
first major auctions of movie posters in 1990. I thought that if art
collectors (who are on the mailing lists of major auction houses) were
exposed to beautiful 1920s and 1930s posters they would appreciate their
beauty
This week, Heritage is auctioning an exceptionally fine selection of rare and
vintage movie posters, lobby cards, photos and film magazines - and at the best
values too! Bid with confidence on some of the greatest deals in vintage movie
material. The 433 lots in this week's auction will end

I think it is Fine art... as commercial art takes a extremely good
ability to convey Images and Ideas and sensations in a inanimate first
Impression. the say GWTW where vivien is drapped in Clarks arms sows
submission at its highest point of male /female which if you think
GWTW pushes
