I understand why many auctions have reserves, and I think it is great that
some auctions have started posting what the reserves are.
But I am not understanding the reason behind waiting until after there has
been a bunch of bidding to post the reserve. Why wait until a set date,
instead of just
Makes no sense to me, either, escpecially in the online auction format.
It's different ina room with sweaty bodies and auction fever ... and the skill
of the auctioneer to get something started.
If an item has a reserve, just start the auction with the minimum bid being the
reserve.

I think houses don't immediately post the reserve because they're hoping
