Dear MOPO Members:
For the next week, I have set most of my listing to allow me to consider best
offers from potential buyers (probably about 95% of the listings). If you have
a moment, please take a look. Items on which I am considering reasonable best
offers are marked Buy it Now
I am using Heritage as an example, but I hope nobody uses that as an excuse
for sniping, as I think we all suffer from a mote in the eye here. In a
recent auction HA had this poster -

I noticed it was the same poster as previously
What a brilliant post, completely on topic and of vital interest to
everyone who collects movie posters, asking insightful questions that have
never really been answered.
Therefore, I expect zero replies to the group (but likely a flurry of
off-group personal comments).

Thanks Jay -- anyone else have any ideas on my question? I think Jay's theory
sounds probable but I don't think I've ever seen it happen before. Thanks,

Andy said they're having tech difficulties and will be back as soon
as the techs get it back online
I also was looking at another forum run with the same software and
it is also down, so presumably a software module was uploaded and had
an incompatibility

I am a little knowledgeable in these areas, so I am just going to throw
this out there for general discussion, but, by analysing the the code
that one gets when one tries to access the site I think it is obvious
that once they open up the server they will find a hamster dead on the
wheel...
A unified system wouldn't harm, but think it would still be compromised to some
degree by subjectivity.
For instance, I'd assume Emovieposter would continue to provide unflattering
grades, because the approach appears to be to exceed expectations, have
pleasantly surprised, returning
Channing: it has happened before in movie poster history, sometimes like
with HOT BLOOD becoming THE WILD ONE, and the posters being redone, so that
we are not just talking about a title change. SUSPICION (with a few lobby
cards initially created titled AFTER THE FACT) is another example, as is
Another notable one is DEADLY IS THE FEMALE, which of course became GUN
CRAZY.

while an interesting question, the question is how do you get all
dealers to use the same grading methods and the answer is you can't
Jon Warren tried that 15 years ago or maybe 20 and dealers are

One auction you cited only uses a
absolutely, Dave, and DEADLY IS THE FEMALE is an interesting
example---because that is a case where it wasn't just the title that was
changed, but the entire artwork campaign and the poster designs, all of
which were radically changed as well.

I've heard of the other cases, of course, but with Deadly is the Female/Gun
