Wow Paolo,

That’s a great and lightning fast response!

I’ll have to think carefully about the poster. It still looks great so maybe if
the price is right I’ll try to buy it anyway.

Best regards from Zurich

Martin

Hi Martin,

1: the 1960 is the second release of the movie and yes, they used the same
posters by Martinati (some small differences, date apart, could be found in the
locandina). Same thing happened with East of Eden (2 releases, same posters by
Martinati: here the locandina is different in the background colors)

2: talking about Italian releases dates IMBD is not to be trusted. In most
cases even the first releases dates are wrong...

Hope this can help you

Paolo

Hi, I have a chance to acquire an Italian 4 foglio “Rebel Without A Cause”.
Only trouble is there appears to be a date of 1960 at the bottom. The poster
looks identical to a couple of examples on the At The Movies site, which are
apparently 1955 versions (it doesn’t say whether they are actually dated).

IMDB shows the Italian release date to be 1956 so I guess it could be an early
re-release. IMDB doesn’t show there to be a re-release in 1960 but maybe it
cannot show every single re-release. Having said that, if they bothered to
reprint a spectacular full colour 4 foglio it must have been a fairly
substantial re-release.

After all that I have two simple questions:

1. Could anyone tell me whether the “1960” is likely to be the date of
the poster?

2. Does the IMDB usually include all significant re-release dates?

Thanks for your help.

Martin
