Hey Larry, Curly, and Moe-poers, Is anyone out there especially fond of Jack Davis's poster artwork? I certainly enjoy his art--and think his posters were all wonderful, even if the films weren't always blockbusters.
Just curious too, what the rarest film poster of his might be? I've had the privilege of meeting and talking to him over the past ten years and think he is a gracious and as humble as can be. Of course I am an incorrigible Hirschfeld nut, but do love it when I see an overlap such as "Sergeants 3" where both Jack Davis and Al Hirschfeld have artwork in the same 1962 pressbook. Also, I have never seen a six sheet or larger with Jack Davis artwork, but am sure there must be one of them. Thank you so very much, Daniel Kinske... West Hollywood, CA P.S.--If anyone is ever considering having a film related website/drawing done with this Octogenarian artist, let me know. He does still do commission work that he likes...
