The condition of many of the posters seem to be the identical condition. Very reflective posters. The “Star Wars” teaser might be shot at a weird angle, but to me the bottom blue line looks kind of bowed, but probably nothing.
This person could simply be printing scanned original posters and then quarter-folding most of them. At that last “Star Wars” convention for the Disney’s Episode 1 of one million, they had a special convention poster done by Drew Struzan (wish they’d have used his version for the theatrical poster—original artwork for posters being what it isn’t nowadays :( ) that was printed on the spot with a large Epson printer. It was a 27x40” size. If I were going to buy a “Star Wars” poster, I’d buy from one of a handful of dealers who were able to get the original “Star Wars” posters from the National Screen Service back in the day. I bought a tri-folded “Empire” and a rolled “Star Wars” poster from Sue Heim, which was definitely authentic, but I sold those long, long ago--out of the back of my Ford Galaxy, and drove far, far, away… I was ordering an image from the Academy library yesterday that is by Star Wars artist Tom Jung (the one-sheet from 77’) and is his version of Groucho, Harpo, Chico—and many other comedians in the pressbook to the 1964 “MGM’s World of Comedy”. And one “Star Wars” tidbit for Al Hirschfeld. The only “Star Wars” character he ever drew in character—was Chewbacca with his slingshot looking blaster—from a composite in 1977 of various other notables as well. -d… > On Aug 7, 2016, at 11:11 AM, Richard Halegua Posters + Comic Art > <sa...@comic-art.com> wrote: > > I'd be more concerned about the Star Wars posters he has there > > especially as it is obvious this guy knows what he's doing. all the > questionable posters are lacking certain info, while others are accurate > > the SW posters are garbage > > > At 09:51 AM 8/7/2016, Greg Douglass wrote: >> Hey guys...I was doing a casual Sunday morning cruise of Ebay this AM and I >> came across some James Bond material with opening bids that are low >> bordering on "WTF?".
