on better items, should an owner put his/her name and address on the back. isnt it hard to sell better "stolen" items that have identifiable markings? i purchased both 1934 IMITATION OF LIFE half sheets from Heritage 15 years, ago. mint, rolled posters. but they each minor india ink stains in the borders. those stains are like fingerprints. they are forever catalogued by Heritage. my my memory tells me that a batch of very expensive posters were stolen from a dealer or auction house in england 20 years ago. recovered 5 years later by the police. does anyone recall? michael In a message dated 4/5/2016 2:17:40 P.M. So sorry for your friend's loss! Sounds like it was someone he knew or that someone gave the info to the thief. Sadly I'd look at friends or acquaintances. This person knew exactly what to target. Usually, they just take the TV and all the electronics stuff. i had my house broken into 20 years ago. Posters untouched. Guitars untouched. TVs and stereos, all gone. Lucky me. I also had the rare pleasure of watching the robbers being led away in handcuffs. (There was a dentist who had meth lab going in his basement who lived just up the street. We regularly found our mailbox opened and letters scattered all over the road. The police asked us if they could use our back yard for surveillance. I gave them the space happily along with an endless supply of coffee and donuts. It was so great seeing those bastards being led away. And, no, i never got my things back.) >> I wish Frank the best of luck. This is a rather small, close-knit hobby and this sounded like a well-informed thief.
