I have heard from Jay Rubin that his father, Samuel K. Rubin, died on June 26,
2009. His funeral will be in Indiana, Pa. on Wednesday, July 1. Visitation
will occur on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00
a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Services will be at funeral home,
I am saddened to hear this. Classic Images is a magazine which helped
me immensely when I was
getting started in this business. Classic Images and Movie
Collector's World were the bibles
of this hobby. While I did not know Sam personally, I spoke with him
a few times in relation
to our
great Post Steve- Sam Rubin was a very kind person... I remember in the
70s calling him on the phone
when he was at classic Images.. In my early years, in this Business it
Was Sam,Rubin, Don Key at the Big Reel and Alan Light at Film collectors
world - which was bought by Brian Bukantis
I would love to have his book. How sad for his family and the movie business.
