The best tri-folded poster I ever had was a Forbidden Planet that was tri-folded and mint (and I mean eMoviePoster.com mint) with zero restoration. I stupidly gave it to Camden House in 1991 to auction at a time when the poster usually sold for $2,500 in nice condition. It sold for $5,500 plus $55

Just a question.. back when US one sheets were machine folded (up until the 80's), was there ever a period when they were ONLY tri folded (thus not having a fold that ran down the center from top to bottom)? it would seem that the machine that did the folds would do them all the same way?
