If your school is into AR, their website has all the available book quizzes they make. I am not crazy about it. I hate the way my kids only get to reading for points, but at least there they have some of the newer literature. And at least it makes the powers that be allow real books in the kids'

Kimberlee, I would like to see the words for grade two. Is it available on the internet? I use a mixed up game where we use the rules from several games. Each table represents a team. I read out the word or definition, followed by a sentence from one of the students with the word blanked out.

This year one of our teachers found a text and CD called Rock the SAT. It has 260 vocabulary words all imbedded in 12 songs. So, we bought it for all ELA teachers. Students love it (although it took them some time to get used to it.) Students can derive the meaning of most words from context
