That is how we did our standards based report card. The standard was
the heading, but the skills that the students should master were under
it. We shaded the areas for the report card to show when the skills

I agree - the Daily Five is a great literacy routine, not only teaching great
reading strategies, but also cooperative learning strategies and independent
learning strategies. It has worked very well in our 1st-3rd grades. The authors
