My district is primarily ELL.  We use WTW with great success.  The
picture sorts work at all levels, to build vocab and background
knowledge.  We have found it is better to not compare long and short
vowels. As we know this is very confusing for the ELL population.  We
teach them separately until we notice that they are using them
correctly.
