I'm also a reading specialist in NY. We use the state ELA test and the MAP test. According to what we've been told the students are compared to students on their level so as long as growth is shown that is equivalent to other students there is not a problem. Pat 6-7 Reading Teacher __

Jennifer, Thank you for fostering this discussion. When I referred to APPR, I was referencing the Annual Professional Performance Review that's been instituted in NY. Sorry - I thought that was a federal requirement. NY is a participant in Race to the Top so possibly it just applies to participa
