in the lower grades, but I continue to argue that it has a definite place with
older, more competent writers as well. I would love to do some proper research

I agree that the Fountas and Pinnell book is wonderful. (Guided Readers and
Writers). It also has a list of titles for students. However, don't panic too
much about the student texts yet. Until you know your students, determine
their level of competence, learn about their
participation

I see that there has been a lot of discussion about how to effectively teach
the rest of the class while taking a reading or writing focus group such as
guided reading or guided writing. I am wondering if anyone has come across the
First Steps resources (2nd edition). They were
to see if we can link our
inquiry or theme to this (not the other way around). If we do this, meaning
can be added to both literacy and to the inquiry (or theme).
