WTW is a fabulous, developmental word study program. The University of Virginia (Donald Bear, etc) and Louisa Moats are behind it 100 percent. It helps with reading and writing, since it operates on the child's developmental level.? You will love it. Kathy Ganke has a few books containing sorts

[MOSAIC] Inferring

I like to tell kids that they can look in 3 places to infer. They can look at 1. description 2. character actions and 3. character dialogue. I have found that looking at these 3 and asking students to "think off the page" has helped to make inferring more concrete. One of my favorite Read Aloud
