Hi All-
I teach reading methods course (4th - 8th grade) to Elementary Education
majors. I've been using Stephanie Harvey's book and Gail Thompson's book
in
this course. What are teachers reading now to stay current with reading
instruction?

I echo what dhouse said. Our district is using these 2 books (Fountas and
Pinnel: Guiding Readers and Writers) and Teaching for Comprehending and
Fluency K-8.

I am a reading teacher and I have been following Fountas and Pinnell and all of
their ideas and thoughts regarding reading. They are true researchers in the
field. I have many of their books...I have the new continuum of literacy
learning pre-k-8 that aligns nicely with the new core standards
