What the first two chapters made me realize was the simplest changes in what we
say can make a world of difference . It doesn't matter if you are talking to
your students,your children ,spouse or friends. Once the food was named road
kill it was no longer dinner!!!

Did that story in chapter one about road kill resonate with you as much as it
did with me? What a way to make a point! Now that Peter Johnston has named a
turkey hit by a car as road kill would YOU eat it if your spouse brought one
home?? LOL...
What this says to me
What this says to me is that the words we use in our classrooms are
important. How we name a mistake a student makes... how we frame it for our
students makes a difference.
