Kendra, In Reading Recovery Training, Marie Clay said that a strategy is something that you can't observe...we can only infer they are using that strategy, such as monitoring, visualizing, etc. Those are all "in the head". Skills, or behaviors, as Clay would say, are observable. We can see

Kendra There hasn't been consensus in the profession but there was an article in last months Reading Teacher which described strategies as those things we CHOOSE to use and use deliberately. Skills are what is automatic. There was a thread on this recently so you could go back and look th
