I would suggest reading Krashen's book, "Summer Reading". He offers some
insight as to a summer program where students are given lots of book choice and
time to read. You may be able to modify his work into your school.

program for the first time. We are thinking about opening our library to
parents and students one day a week to check out books. My hope is to set up
