I birded western Carver County this afternoon in the New Germany/Crane =

This afternoon I enjoyed Common Loons on both Lake Calhoun, and Lake Harriet in
Minneapolis. It's such a pleasure to watch such a big bird cruise on the lake
like a submarine then dive, and disappear so quickly and effortlessly.
On Lake Calhoun there are also lots of Red-breasted Mergansers.
This morning at about 8:00 I observed a common loon on the south end of Lake
Carlos, a few miles north of Alexandria.
