Today Tom Auer and I searched and searched for the Spotted Towhee and =
failed again but the home owner saw t
As I drove to lunch around 1215 I went north around harriet and saw the =
white shapes of the swans across the lake. On my return trip to that end =
of the lake I was disappointed to find no tundra swans. I drove around =
both lakes with no luck.

This morning Leslie Marcus and I stopped at Lake Calhoun, and Lake Harriet in
Minneapolis. On the south side of Lake Calhoun from Thomas Beach at 10:00 am
we watched 80 Tundra Swans. On the sandy shoreline we also saw 3 Snow
Buntings, and 5 Dunlin.

5 snowy owls were spotted south of Crookston this morning off County
Road 14 between US 75 (2mi north of Climax) an
O.K. this is not earth-shaking news, but birding has been a bit dreary,
so...
This morning (11-4) a red-necked grebe was buddied up with a pied-billed
grebe at the north end of Lake Harriet. 76 tundra swans were still on Lake
Calhoun (Hennepin County)
