Nathan & I journeyed to Wood Lake Reserve in Richfield and Crow-Hassan off
of 101 (five miles or so from Rogers). Thank you, Conny B. for the
directions to Wood Lake, Yahoo's directions (which I had downloaded earlier)
were off by nearly 30 miles.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Hooded Warbler and Summ
Yesterday I tried for the Hooded Warbler between 3 and 5pm with no success
since things were pretty quiet there. I only saw six warbler species, but
there were quite a few Black-and-whites more near the back of the center
(opposite the building). Along the Hooded loop I saw 4 Red Fox kits and
This morning in the rain I was able to re-locate the
HW (sight and sound) at around 7 am and again at
around 10:15am. Bird is in same area to the right of
the center in and around the small trail loop.
No summer tanager :-( again for the third time.

This morning at 5:45 at Purgatory Creek Wetlands in Eden Prairie, Hennepin
County an Adult Cattle Egret was on the disappearing grassy island. It was
hunched down in the middle surrounded by Caspian Terns, and many Gulls
including the Lesser Black-backed Gull, what a great sight!
