A Ruddy Turnstone was present on the mudflats at the west end of Lake
Byllesby, Dakota County at 6:30 this evening. This appears to be a very
early date for this species, "Birds in Minnesota" lists a state early
arrival date of May 3, early south date of May 4. =20

No success locating the scissor-tailed flycatcher. It was pouring rain
for about 1/2 an hour and then cool and breezy with rapidly failing light
after that. I suspect it flew into the trees during the rain and had the
good sense to stay put.

On 4/30/05, I observed a Northern Mockingbird near the maintenace area of
Rice Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Rice Lake NWR is 5 miles south of
McGregor on State Hwy 65.
A White-faced Ibis is being seen in the extreme south-west corner of Otter
Tail County (Western Township).
