After an absence of several days both Carolina Wrens appeared this
morning at the meal worm feeder.
By whistling I was able to get the male to sing. Such a lovely sound he makes.

As I was driving I-94 through West Union township on Tuesday a large light
colored falcon with a classic Prairie Falcon underwing pattern flew over the
interstate from the north, banked, and returned to the north. As the
underside was well seen, I am confident that this bird was a Prairie Falcon.
Hi everyone, I hope this isn't off base, but I was out in the woods on the
U.P. of MI., and heard an owl at night very close. It made a single note hoot,
only 2 or 3 times, and moved on. It was a deep Barred owl or Great Horned owl
sounding hoot. Any ideas of what kind of owl it was and what
