Bass Ponds Friday around late morning and early afternoon. Did not spot the
White-eyed Vireo. Did however see the Cerulean Warbler in the giant Cottonwood
at the bend in the trail (past the Vireo location). The other surprise was the
lone, behind schedule, Dunlin feeding in the larger
I spent about four hours in Courthouse Park this morning, then visited
Senn-Rich WMA, Maplewood Park, and Moonan Marsh, with a few more brief stops
along the way. From about 8:30 to 10:30, Courthouse Park was full of
activity--19 warbler and four vireo species (and good numbers of most) plus

19 warbler species and still no Ovenbird. I'm beginning to think that the
Ovenbirds are avoiding me.

Did Sherburne this morning and it was quite productive. Mostly
concentrated on the Blue Hill and Manhomen trails. The following were
highlights:
Orange-crowned, Wilson's, Magnolia, Yellow, Yellow-rumped, Blue-winged,
Tennessee, Black-and-white, Bay-breasted warblers along with Common

but no a bold wing bars, very active: it moved continually
in the wetland brush, one observer noted it bobbing its tail.

The former rice paddies were alive with sparrows but very few warblers this
morning. Nashville, Common Yellowthroat, Yellow, and Palm were seen. The
tundra swan previously report by Audrey Evers was still there. There were
common yellowlegs, pectoral sandpipers, ring-necked ducks, lesser
