I posted a bird from MN River Valley NWR in Bloomington on the new showcase

The bird was at the feeder on the south side of the headquarters.
It has some characteristics of a female house finch but it isn't like any
house finch I have seen bef

Saw a pair of Green Herons working on gathering nesting materials,
a pair of Sandhill Cranes hanging my the wind for a good 5 minutes
over my head.
Observed a female Brown-headed Cowbird acting oddly in some downed
trees and branches just east of the parking lot - as I watched it
approached

This evening after work left me in Rochester, I stopped at the impound dams
west of Rochester by the landfill. I found eighteen species of waterfowl
including:
1 Common Loon
Red-necked Grebe
4 Horned Grebe
65+ Ruddy Duck on one pond and perhaps ten more on the other
Pelicans
I had one bird call
