Regarding my bird ID query - thanks to the many who responded!
The consensus was Tennessee Warbler with a "black chinstrap" was simply
caused by a ruffling or separation of the feathers - exposing darker
feathers, skin or shadows below.
[Also - this bird was in my flowering tree - which
I provide childcare for a family near the Highland Park neighborhood, they say
they've seen signs for a missing parakeet in posted near their home (near Grand
and Fairview Avenues). If I find a sign I'll post it ASAP. If anyone else
happens to beat me to it, all the better.

I have a sick bat (little brown) hanging on my garage door. I realize the
probablility of rabies infection is high. Should this be reported to DNR or
somebody? Or should I let it expire and bury it carefully in the garbage.

There is a beautiful Budgie that has been visiting our feeders for 3 days
now.
It has been coming in quite often this morning so it looks like he may stay
awhile.
If anyone knows someone who has lost their Budgie,

Hi all,
Back in April of this year - this bird came through my yard in South
Minneapolis.
I am new to warblers (and MN) - and I thought this was a Tennessee
warbler - but the black band under the chin does not make sense (to my
limited knowledge at least).
