Townsend's Solitaire, Ann Lake/Sand Dunes area (just off Sherburne CR 5,
south of refuge) - giving excellent looks from the top of deciduous &
coniferous trees west of the parking lot.
Also present: White-winged Crossbills, Purple Finches, Pine Siskins.
Checked the conifer woods, did not hear

Individual observed this morning on 9400 block of Congdon Blvd (North Shore
Scenic Drive). Apparently attracted by dogwood and mountain ash berries along
the One True Lake.
Bird is distressed. One leg not functioning. Body shaking. Teetering while
perching on limbs.

It looks like some members are getting mou-net postings, but others are not.
I'm sending additional messages to try to determine the problem.

Hi. I'm looking for information on current status of migration in the Lake
Pepin - Alma area.
Did the extended warm fall weather (before it changed last weekend) slow
down this year's
migration at all? An Alma web site mentioned only 40 swans on Rieck's
landing. Is peak still coning?
Thanks.
I actually sent this message two days ago, but the listserve decided
to go on the fritz at about the same time, so here it is now in case
it was lost for good.
On Monday, John Hockema called to report that he and others were
