12/18/2008 Had a chance to check out the Snowy Owl, with Alyssa DeRubeis and Doug Mayo at the airport this afternoon. The bird was sitting atop an antenna across from the glycol facility on Cargo Road from 3:30 to 4:00pm. A flock of Snow Buntings were also observed just North of the entrance

My photos of the bird on that post, taken mid-morning, show whitewash and what appears to be one or two dead small mammals atop the post. This might be a favored roost. I parked in the glycol facility parking lot, then walked the median back toward the owl to avoid stopping on the road. The
