The immature golden crowned sparrow made one of its infrequent visits to our feeder this morning at around 7:45. It was the first sighting of the bird since January 19. It's occurred to me that most of this bird's appearances have been on mornings when it has snowed or is snowing. I wonder

I am generally used to seeing white-winged crossbills feeding on the seeds of spruce and tamarack cones. Today outside my office, I noticed that the birds feeding on the seeds of red pine cones were white-wined crossbills. Does anybody keep a bird list for a single tree? I find office work
