Along the river path, just south of the wig-wam frame that someone has
constructed, there was a small flock of redpolls sunning in the top of
a spruce. I say "sunning" because there was no feeding activity in
evidence, just a vocalizing soft enough that it might have been

I checked this morning about 11:00A.M. for the White-Winged
Crossbills, and found them at the Twin West Chamber of Commerce
building, in Plymouth. The flock I found, had about 20 heavily
feeding birds. The address of the building is:10700 Old County Rd.

I'm glad to know there's still a Barred Owl at Crosby. My two most
recent owl sightings there have been of Great-Horned Owl, and I was
wondering if the resident Barreds had been chased off.

Found a dead Northern Flicker in the 3500 block of 38th Ave S in
Minneapolis this morning. Does not appear to be predated or otherwise
injured.
