In yesterday's post the name should be ring-NECKED duck; shouldn't
have thought about the gulls present, as "ring-billed" slips in too
easily.

Yesterday while fishing on S. Center Lake in Lindstrom/Center City, there
were a pair of adult Eagles frequently flying overhead, a lovely sight on
such a warm spring day while there's still over 2 ft of ice!!
Must be a nest in the area... Anyone know where it is?

This afternoon while walking at the Bass Ponds in Bloomington, Hennepin County
a vocalizing Killdeer flew into the Hog Back Ridge Ponds rocky shoreline. This
was a welcome spring time sight on such a warm, balmy afternoon here in the
Metro!

Hi everyone,
At around 2:15 this afternoon I found a Mute Swan at Wells Lake. Many of you
may remember that Rice County hosted Mute Swans for a number of years. I
haven't seen a Mute Swan in Rice County since February of 2007, so I'm not sure
about the origin of this bird, but I can tell you
Vern and I saw many ducks and geese at Lake Gorman, LeSueur County this
afternoon. Canadas and many Greater White-fronted Geese. Pintails,
Canvasbacks, Gadwalls, Green -winged Teal, Mergansers, American Wigeons,
Ring-billed Gulls. Large flock of Red-winged Blackbirds, large flock of A.

I saw one Turkey Vulture soaring over a farm field in southern Washington
County this afternoon, March 15. I also observed Eastern Bluebirds singing.

Saturday I walked down to the Mississippi River from the Youth Camp at the west
