I located a singing Prothonotary Warbler in Renville County at11:20 am
today. It was in a cty park off of cty 6 just south of cty 15 right
along the river. Take the park road to the west for 0.6 mi, go past
the clearing and enter the woods again. The bird was calling from the
side of
My son, Nate, just called. He observed a hummingbird at Munsinger Gardens
(St. Cloud) this afternoon with purple rather than red under its chin. He
is confident about the coloration due to close viewing (four feet away). In
all other ways the hummer was identical to a male Ruby-throated.
I am missing a few birds from my regular species list for Minnesota. If
anyone can help me find these birds I would appreciate a response.

I have a second-hand report of a female HARLEQUIN DUCK seen and
photgraphed on the 24th at the Park Point Recreational Area boat
launch. This may be the same individual reported here in early May.
