Mille Lacs is an interesting county for birding. On the southern edge one can find breeding or over-summering Grasshopper, Field & Vesper Sparrows, Yellow-billed Cuckoos, Willow Flycatchers, Blue-Gray Gnatcatchers, and, in some years, Blue-winged Warblers, Henslow's Sparrows and Dickcissels.
