The site is good for established species. The ranges are more up to date,
including rarities such a Green Violetear and expanding species such as
Ringed Kingfisher. Sibley's web site has dots for Green Violetears in
places I had never imagined this species had been seen. On the other

I saw one red-headed woodpecker this morning (July 11) at the Cedar Creek
Ecosystem Scientific Reserve. It was in the savanna restoration area on the
south side of the reserve.

While there hasn't been anything that unusual over the past couple
weeks in Carver County, there was a Pine Siskin in some pines in
northwest Chaska the other day. This was the 1st I have seen since
early May. Back in June there were 3 Henslow's Sparrows at Carver
Park, but yesterday it was back
In pursuit of the reported Olive-Sided Flycatcher and Cerulean Warbler I saw
two Red-Headed Woodpeckers on the Blue Hill Trail this A.M. Found in the oak
area just before the coniferous area.
