Happy New Year, everyone!
Does anyone have any recent sightings of the Varied Thrush spotted on
Rehbein Rd.?
I made two ill-fated attempts at locating this bird after the last posting
and might risk another if there is any fresh information.
Cheers!

HI Scott Mehus has added another golden eagle seminar/field trip to
be held Saturday January 9th at 1:00 pm at the National Eagle Center
in Wabasha. This is in addition to the field trip scheduled Tuesday
January 5th at 1:30, also at the National Eagle Center. These are
free and all
Am contemplating heading out in the cold tomorrow to look for this bird.
Does anyone have any news of sightings seen on Saturday Jan 2??
Regards.

We observed a Hawk Owl near Tofte in Cook County along Hwy 61 at
approximately mile marker 89 (there was no mile marker there because of
recent road construction but that is where we extrapolated the mile
marker would be.) The bird was perched at the top of an aspen alongside
the road.

Went to Duluth on this very cold day. Went up to the house and the owner
said it was last seen at 1:10. I arrived at 2:20 and watched . Many siskens
and chickadees but no bird . My younger son (14 years old and not a birder)
said there was a brown bird in the trees to my right. I ignored him
