I spent a couple of hours at the home of Bernice and Earl Hall late this
afternoon and was able to see the Northern Mockingbird come in to drink at the
bird baths several times. We also spotted it in the crabapple tree.
The Summer Tanager was not seen at all today. It was last seen around 5 pm

Sorry about this late post but thought I should post this sighting. I birded
Westwood Nature center in St Louis Park yesterday (10/11) 330-500pm and
happened to see a northern shrike on the west side of the center.

This morning I went out birdwatching at Wisconsin Point with two of my
friends (taught 'em all about gulls, and now they're hooked)! In
addition to the fun sightings listed below, there was one odd gull,
which was is possibly an ill juvenile Ring-billed Gull... odd molt,
rough feathers, bill looks
We had a great day with the beautiful weather for the Big Sit compared to
the past 5 years. We had 54 species and 19 participants, another great turn out
for both, plus, a fantastic pot-luck.

Inspired by others' posts about migrant LeConte's Sparrows, I decided to try
and find one at Prairie Island in Winona. At about 10AM Tuesday, I found one.

Thrust. Gotta love the diversity this year.
