FOY a Brown Thrasher beneath our feeders, 5-6 days earlier than the
past two years.
This afternoon at Schimek Park near Good Thunder a long look at a
very tame Veery.

Found a Eared Grebe this evening from the public access on the south side of
Fish lake here in Kanabec county. Fish Lake is south of Mora off of Hwy 65 for
anyone that is interested.

I as well was at Westwood Nature Center in St. Louis Park today.
I birded in the snow from 6:30am to 7:30am and noted the following birds:
Pied-billed Grebe, Canada Goose, Wood Duck, Mallard, Ring-necked Duck,
Lesser Scaup, Wild Turkey (8 of them), American Coot, Mourning Dove,
Red-bellied Woodpe
The Edina Ospreys on the new Creek Valley Nest ( female from the old freeway
light nest) have laid their first egg. It remains to be seen if it is fertile.
We will have to wait about 39 days to see. I know some of you are interested in
this pair of Ospreys.

I hit upon a horde of Hermit thrushes this morning. At least 40 of them along
the east end of the lake.
Also noted were Scaup, ring necked duck, wood duck, rc kinglet, b creeper and y
r warbler.
I looked in vain for a winter wren- perfect habitat but no luck.
