Checked out Lake Bylessby at dusk. A flock of 10 Snow Geese and 2

This afternoon at about 4 PM there was an immature White-winged Scoter at Pearl
Lake in Maine Prairie Twp., Stearns Co. As best as I could tell - it can be
kind of hard to judge these things - the bird was in the NE quadrant of the
lake.

As of 2:30 Saturday, the very cooperative lone Western Grebe was 25 yards
from shore at the boat launch on Lake Nokomis as reported earlier by Diana
Doyle.

Chipping Sparrows though. Yesterday at the Landscape Arboretum I saw a Pine
Warbler and heard the repeated distinct call of a Yellow Ra
This morning at 7:30 there was a Western Grebe (breeding plumage) right along
the western shore of Lake Nokomis (Mpls). It was visible from the canoe/boat
ramp area just south of the main beach.
Horned Grebe numbers have tapered off but there were still a handful this
morning.
