I started my day-off today by relaxing along Park Point, taking a nice
walk, and doing a little birdwatching. During the 1 1/2 hours I spent
at Park Point, I observed 2 Sharp-shinned Hawks and 3 American
Kestrels (one Shin decided to stoop on a Northern Flicker)!

Went to Park Point today not expecting much in the gusty NW winds. When I
arrived at the bath house there were several groups of Sanderlings foraging
along the beach with some Baird's and Semi-palmated Sandpipers mixed in. I
estimated I saw about 50 Sanderlings, 1 Baird's, 5 Semi-palmated Sand
About 11 am today, Tanya Beyer and I viewed 8 American Golden Plover in the
stubble field close to the junction of Alta and 302nd St, where a variety of
shorebirds were reported recently by Steve Weston on August 29th. We observed

Yesterday's cold front went through Rice Co. around noon. At 5 PM a large
warbler flock briefly visited my banding station. I banded three
