Eric Carlson, Brenda Malloy, Butch Ukura and many employees
of Wausau Paper. Unfortunately no public access, only company
employees. Sent a photo to Kim Eckert for posting on recently
seen as I don't know how that process is done.

Three Townsend's Solitaires were present at Ann Lake/Sand Dunes this morning,
chasing/romping with each other.
I walked the area for half an hour without success this morning, then noted one
in the bare trees as I was leaving. One quickly became three.

A Snowy Owl was seen between 5:00 and 5:30pm around Parsley Bridge south of
Chatfield on US-52 by my co-worker. This owl is possibly injured. If it is
seen and indeed injured, please contact me at the information below so I can
arrange transport to a rehabilitator.

Around 10:15 this morning I was somewhat surprised to find a small flock (~
10 birds) of White-winged Crossbills feeding at the top of a white spruce
at College Park on the south side of Doswell Ave. a few blocks west of the
University of MN-St. Paul campus. The birds were vocalizing frequently
Wayne Moses reported another Snowy Owl - on a utility pole - just past
the intersection at Marshall County 36 (Radium and Audubon Center) 5
poles east.
I went out and photographed it. Looks like a young male.
Also I have received calls about other Snowy Owl sightings in NW Minnesota:

The Snowy Owl off Hyw. 10 on 103 Street right before Little Falls which Frank
Gosiak mentioned yesterday was present at around 9:30 this morning. Just as
indicated by Frank, go ca. 1/2 mi in off Hyw. 10. This bird was on the north
side of the road about 100 yds. in perched on the top of a dead

The bird feeder at our HQ/Office has been busy today! There are at least 2 and
maybe 3 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS still present; I'm identifying them by plumage
differences. Male NORTHERN CARDINAL here this afternoon - I don't see
cardinals very often. Both male and female pileated woodpeckers have

Snowy Owl was re-found this afternoon. Captured and SEVERELY emaciated.
Following vet's orders and if it survives the night, will be taken to a
rehabber.

At 4:00 this afternoon I photographed a snowy owl at the international
airport. It was at the end of Cargo Road on the east side by the
cement barrier.

Thanks, Diane--I hope it's in good shape and stays out of trouble. But
chances are, the outfit hired by MAC to trap and re-locate them will have
removed it before long---at least before the CBC count on the 17th.

they are. It doesn't sound good for the owls, but fun for us.
