Enjoyed a day of birding in Southwestern Minnesota, with Bob Williams. We
observed 60 species of birds. Greater White-fronted Geese were observed in
four counties, along with smaller numbers of Snow and Ross's Geese. We also
observed 15 species of Ducks. Mixed flocks of

Seen from Old Cedar Bridge pier:
Green wing teal
Blue Wing Teal (foy)
Redheads
Northern Shovelers
Mallards
Wood Ducks
Lesser Scaups
American Coots
Ring Neck Ducks
Song Sparrows
Red Wing Blackbirds
Bald Eagles
And two Juncos in our yard just now. I thought they'd be gone by now.

I drove by the Great Blue Heron rookery on the Mississippi river by Marshall
Terrace and counted 19 birds on about 30 nests. I was on the West side of the
river and did not use a scope, so I might have missed one or two.
