There are two pairs of purple finches visiting the feeder at HQ this afternoon.  Haven't seen this species since much earlier in the winter.   There was an eastern towhee calling from across the St. Francis River at the HQ this morning.  Same spot I heard one calling from last spring.   Betsy Ben

[mou-net] Osprey nests in Ramsey and Dakota

On Sunday I saw an osprey on the pole nest on Randolph which is off Shepard Road. It wasn't the resident male from last year. Also, the osprey nest on the tower in Black Dog Lake at the Black Dog power plant is hosting a pair of nesting Bald Eagles. They've been incubating for quite a few w
