Water is a resource not a waste produ
I counted 70 Stilt Sandpipers at the lewiston sewage ponds today. there
were also greater and lesser yellowlegs, killdeer & snipe to be seen.
for those of you who aren't aware the remaining pond is being dried up. it
is about half water and a half mud now. the next few weeks should be
amazing for
At 12:30 pm today, very quite on the lake, not much activities but accept
10 to 15 stilt sandpipers feeding on the westside mud flat from the
cemetery with several lesser and greater yellowleg.
Lake byllesby is located near Randolph in Dakota county. 0ff highway 56,
look for a small cemetery to par
A Loggerhead Shrike was seen in the southeast corner of Emerson and 160th
street. It flew from the road to the irrigation apparatus in the field.
Sora and Virginia Rail were at the 180th street marsh. The Virginia was close
to the road on the south side.

Arrivals this morning were Blue-headed Vireo and House Wren at Rapids Lake
MVNWR, Red-necked Grebe at Assumption Lake, and Gray Catbird at Rice Lake.

This morning there was a single Sandhill Crane on 210 St. S. just south
of 90th ave. Also seen were two Yellowheaded Blackbirds--the first I
have ever seen in this area. There was also an Eagle sitting on a
nest. The Prairie Chickens were also very active.

Last Thursday - FOY Belted Kingfisher in Blaine along 109th.
Sunday - I got out to Lake Byllesby. I found only four species of
shorebirds with another at Randolph Industrial Park. The best was a couple
of Dunlin with black bellies. Mud flats are extensive and worthy of
monitoring. I saw a pair
I observed six Stilt Sandpipers at Lake Byllesby Monda, April 23 in the
afternoon. They were at the far western end, visible from the cove. The only
other shorebirds were yellowlegs and Killdeer.
