The Cattle Egret was still present at 8:00pm at the Bloomington Ice
Gardens, in the same wetland previously mentioned by Ben. It was just
about in the middle of the pond in a shallow spot with a few cattails.
I also heard an American Bittern calling on nearby Marsh Lake. To get

Out before the raindrops today I was in Scott county - New Market/Elko
about 12:15pm and saw a EUCD in the downtown area. I got a very good look
at it flying and on the ground for a few moments before it took off to I
don't know where. I didn't realize til now how good a bird that is
At 1:15 my dad, Brook, spotted a Cattle Egret in the marsh at the
Bloomington Ice Gardens. We watched it stay stationary for about 5 minutes
before we left.
The Bloomington Ice Gardens are located near across France from Normandale
Community College at 98th and France Ave in Bloomington. It was

Woke up a little before 4:00AM this morning to what I thought was a car alarm.
Upon closer listening, I realized it was a bird. I sleepily recorded the call
on my camera, and when I reviewed it this morning it was an Eastern
Whip-poor-will. I live near University and Prior in St. Paul. LOTS of f
